Konstandinos Rigos takes on his first production as the Greek National Opera’s new ballet director, adding a post-apocalyptic spin to Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece.  The characters remain the same, as does the music, but the action centres around a dried up lake, and the dancers appear to be environmental refugees.  See it as a revisioning of an all-time classic with an infusion of today’s reality and a possible future.
